Why I Created Radiant Axis
Clinical experience. Individualized medicine. Care that sees the whole person.
I have spent more than 25 years in healthcare, much of it in acute care. That experience has taught me an incredible amount, but it has also shaped the way I look at health—and ultimately, why I created Radiant Axis.
Acute care is fast-paced by necessity, but when I started nursing in 2011, I began to see healthcare shift from a more holistic approach toward a greater focus on the admitting diagnosis alone. That focus is necessary in acute care, but it can leave less room to step back and look at the whole person. At times, I feel we are utilizing a Band-Aid treatment on a much bigger picture. I have cared for people who return to the hospital again and again with the same problems, people who have sought help repeatedly and still do not feel well. They are tired of being tired. Tired of feeling sick. Tired of hearing that everything looks “normal” when they know they do not feel normal. That taught me something important: Helping people is not only about whether their numbers fall within a reference range. It is also about how they feel.
Labs matter, but they are only one part of the story. I also want to know: Do you have energy? Are you sleeping well? Can you think clearly? Do you feel motivated? Do you enjoy your life—or are you simply getting through the day? I cannot turn back the clock, but I do believe we can work toward making the years ahead healthier, stronger, and better-quality years.
That means looking at the bigger picture: your symptoms, history, medications, supplements, nutrition, lifestyle, previous treatments, laboratory trends, and goals. Nutrition matters. We live in a world where convenience foods, highly processed foods, busy schedules, medications, medical conditions, and changes in appetite can all influence what our bodies actually receive and absorb. Sometimes people are eating enough calories but still may not be getting everything they need nutritionally. Absorption matters. Supplement quality matters. And sometimes the answer is not simply, “Take a vitamin.” More is not always better, and not everyone needs the same thing.
There is also a very personal reason Radiant Axis exists. My father, Kenny Orr, was well known in Streator and loved by many. We lost him to pancreatic cancer. One day he developed a fever, and four months later he was gone. He did not like hospitals; he really didn’t like health care at all. When you feel good, why go seek healthcare services? The goal is to provide medical and healthcare services that don’t quite feel like the same experience you would get in a “hospital,” hopefully allowing people to feel more comfortable investigating their health. I also plan to contribute to pancreatic research.
We cannot predict or prevent every illness, and no amount of testing can guarantee that we will find everything early. But his experience strengthened my belief that people should feel supported in being proactive rather than only reactive with their health. If you want to ask questions, investigate a change, establish baseline labs, or better understand what is happening in your own body, I want you to feel comfortable doing that.
My own health journey shaped Radiant Axis as well. For years, I struggled with my weight despite exercising and trying to do what I thought I was supposed to do. I used phentermine, lost weight, and gained it back. Eventually, a multimodal approach using different tools—including GLP-1 therapy, hormones, peptides, supplements, nutrition, and exercise—helped me achieve a 60-pound weight loss.
What I learned was that there was never one single answer. And even when something works, it may not work forever. Bodies change. Hormones change. Metabolism changes. Life changes. That is why I believe in having tools in the toolbox. There is no one-size-fits-all treatment plan. The goal is to understand enough about you that we have options.
I also want my patients to know this: I do not know everything. Healthcare continues to change. The more I learn, the more I realize how much there still is to learn. Sometimes I will know exactly where I think we should start, perhaps need to research something further, ask more questions, involve another specialist, or sometimes we will learn and figure it out together.
The name Radiant Axis Wellness & Aesthetics represents the way I think about health. Our hormonal, metabolic, neurologic, nutritional, and biochemical systems are interconnected. When one area is out of balance, it can affect how we feel and function in many different ways. My goal is to help identify what may be out of alignment, understand what may be contributing, and develop an individualized plan to help you Align what may be out of balance, Renew your energy, health, and sense of yourself, and Radiate from the inside out.
And while medicine is a huge part of my life, it is not all of who I am. I was born and raised locally. I have been with my husband for 23 years, and after more than two decades together, we married in 2026. We have a 24-year-old son and two Labradors—one red and one white—who are very much part of our family. Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, bicycling, dancing, music, movies, reading, and learning.
We live in a time when patients have access to more health information than ever before. Many people come to me having already researched their symptoms, labs, medications, supplements, or treatment options. My role is not to dismiss that. My role is to help connect the dots and help you understand your health—not simply hand you a plan. The goal is to help you make the years ahead healthier, stronger, and more fulfilling, and help you feel like yourself again. That is why I created Radiant Axis.
Acute + Wellness Experience
Hospital-based medicine and outpatient wellness experience provide a broad clinical perspective.
Clinical Decision-Making
Symptoms, examination, laboratory findings, diagnostics, history, and risk are considered together — not in isolation.
Partnership in Care
Patients should understand their health and the reasoning behind their treatment plan. Questions and shared decision-making are part of the process.

I had such a great experience! During my visit, she took the time to thoroughly explain the testing process, what she was testing for, and what I could expect moving forward. I really appreciated how attentive and knowledgeable she was. The space is beautiful and you can tell how much thought & care is being put into the wellness center. I'm really excited to continue working with her throughout this process. 10/10 recommend!

Loved Lindsay when she was at her last location. I remember the first time I met her. I sat in my patient room and cried to her for more reasons than I could even begin to explain. She helped me through a very difficult emotional, physical and hormonal time in my life. Am looking forward to the opening of her own place and I will be making the longer drive to be able to go back to someone I've trusted through my journey!
